The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, participated in the contract signing ceremony and the handover of the check for the Ambulance Supply Project for the Panama Red Cross Committee of Arraiján, thanks to a donation granted by the Embassy of Japan in Panama. The contribution, amounting to 130 thousand balboas, will allow the acquisition of two ambulances that will strengthen pre-hospital care and emergency response capacity in the district of Arraiján, one of the country's most populous areas. During his speech, Boyd Galindo expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Japan for this act of solidarity that will directly impact the quality and timeliness of emergency care. He emphasized that every minute is crucial when it comes to saving lives, so having more transport units means greater coverage, faster response times, and peace of mind for hundreds of families. 'On several occasions, its support has strengthened our response capacity, especially in hard-to-reach areas, where every minute can make the difference between life and death,' he stated. The Ambassador of Japan in Panama, Kazuyoshi Matsunaga, indicated that the ambulances donated through this project will be a pillar for the safety and well-being of Arraiján, a rapidly growing area whose population has been increasing. For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez, highlighted the strong ties of cooperation and friendship with the Government of Japan. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Panama Red Cross, Elías Solís González; diplomatic officials and special guests. This initiative is carried out within the framework of the Japanese Government's Grant Assistance for Human Security Security Project, reflecting the solid relationship of cooperation that for over three decades has contributed to the social and health development of Panama. The Ministry of Health reiterated its commitment to continue strengthening the health system through strategic alliances and coordinated work with organizations such as the Panama Red Cross, a key partner in emergency management and life protection.
