Reform of the CSS Under Discussion | Ours Abroad News

Health Minister Fernando Boyd announced that the reform of the Social Security Fund will be analyzed. The aim is general well-being after extensive debates.

The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, reacted to the approval of the reform to the Organic Law of the Social Security Fund (CSS) emphasizing the importance of consensus and adjustments in democracy. He highlighted that the law was corrected and modified on several points to ensure improvements for the benefit of the population. In statements during the delivery of a rural aqueduct in Las Delicias, Bocas del Toro, Boyd emphasized that the reform seeks general welfare.

"I hope everyone sees the positive aspects of this reform and understands its purpose," added Boyd. He further mentioned that President Mulino will review the reform with his team before making a final decision on its promulgation. The minister warned that if the need for changes is confirmed in seven years, they will be reassessed.

Boyd pointed out that the approval of the reform arose from extensive debate and it would be a mistake to reject it for not including all proposals from each sector. "It would be selfish not to recognize the progress made," he mentioned. The minister also informed that the reform does not foresee an immediate increase in the retirement age, but periodic reviews will be conducted to adjust measures according to actuarial studies.

In this context, the Minister of Health emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing the proposal before its possible presidential sanction.
