Panama - A total of 144 packages of suspected illicit substance seized and three men apprehended was the result of an anti-narcotics operation carried out by units of the National Border Service (Senafront) in the coastal waters of the Guna Yala Comarca. The crew of a speedboat attempted to flee to evade the officers and get rid of the drugs, throwing the packages into the water, but despite this, they were intercepted and apprehended. During the count, the border guards counted that they managed to recover 144 packages with dry herb inside from the water, which is presumed to be marijuana. In another anti-drug operation carried out in the districts of Guabito, Las Tablas and El Teribe, in Bocas del Toro, against microtrafficking, 11 men were detained presumably linked to this crime. Through nine search and raid warrants, the units of Senafront Antinarcotics and the Drug Prosecutor's Office of Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro, through controlled drug purchase, seized wrappers of cocaine, marijuana and crack. In both cases, both the illicit substance and the detainees were left at the disposal of the Drug Prosecutor's Office.
