An 11-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on the night of December 17 in the Varital sector of Boquerón, on the road leading to the border in the province of Chiriquí.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. The victim, identified with the initials V.A.Q., was hit by a golden Nissan Máxima vehicle driven by a 21-year-old young man.
Paramedics from the SUME 911 service arrived at the scene, but determined that the girl showed no vital signs.
The authorities carried out the corresponding procedures and an investigation was initiated to clarify the circumstances of the hit-and-run.
