The complaint of alleged embezzlement in the management of public resources in the Burunga Community Board, Arraiján, has generated intense debate in the region of the province of Panama Oeste. Keiry Sánchez, substitute representative of the district, has filed the complaint, questioning the appointment of staff who do not fulfill their duties and whom she describes as "bottles".
Since July 2, Sánchez has been performing her duties at the Burunga community board, where she acts as a lawyer and supervisor of community workers. During this time, she has noticed the absence of certain employees who, despite receiving a monthly salary of $1,500, do not show up for work. "I have been here every day since July 2 at the Burunga Community Board, taking on my responsibility as a substitute and supervisor. The workers earning $1,500 do not come and are not here," Sánchez stated.
The substitute representative has assured that none of her campaign collaborators have been appointed in the institution. In addition, she revealed that she received an offer of $600 per month to hire someone who would not have the obligation to work, a proposal she immediately rejected. "They offered me $600 for another 'bottle' not to come to work, and I told them no," Sánchez expressed.
