Panama Government Opens New Sports Field in Veraguas

The Panamanian government has handed over a number of social works in the province of Veraguas. In the district of Cañazas, a new baseball field has been opened, costing B/. 878,109.75 and equipped with everything necessary for the youth. This project, previously abandoned by previous governments, has been resumed by the Mulino administration and now benefits 20,019 residents of the district. The field was built with 90% local labor and features synthetic grass with dimensions of 45 x 90 meters. Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, on behalf of President José Raúl Mulino, stated that this facility is not just for recreation but an instrument to keep young people away from vice and bad influences. Additionally, in La Mesa, Orillac handed over the keys to a new house to Mrs. Zoila Amarilis Barría and her two daughters. This family was in a social risk situation due to the youngest daughter, Zoe Santos, suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which required her to be confined to the Pediatric Hematology ward of Dr. Luis 'Chicho' Fábrega Hospital. The house is fully furnished and has access to all basic public services.
