Last night, the body of 19-year-old Erick Amir Morales Fuentes was recovered in the area known as Cañón Macho de Monte, located in Cuesta de Piedra, Tierras Altas district (Chiriquí). Rescue teams from the Fire Department and the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) received an alert about the young man's disappearance at approximately 2:50 a.m. yesterday, leading to a coordinated search operation between both entities. The young man had entered the canyon and could not be located afterward, prompting his family to report the incident to 911. The body was recovered and placed in a secure area, where Public Ministry personnel conducted the procedure for the removal of the corpse. At present, it is presumed that the young man, a resident of the Bugaba district, may have been caught in a strong current and drowned, but this will be confirmed during the autopsy. After hours of searching, his body was found at the bottom of a river by response teams.
