Several repair works were carried out along the entire Randolph Avenue in Colón by crews from the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) on this important access road to companies in the France Field Free Trade Zone and maritime ports that handle containerized cargo.

For Ramiro Castrejón, 41, this type of work is vital in his case, as he operates heavy equipment at ports and needs a suitable high-traffic road.

Similarly, Teófilo Castillo, 39, recommended that the MOP have a maintenance plan for the roads and that the summer should be taken advantage of for road maintenance.

On the same subject, Elvin Ábrego, regional director of MOP/Colón, reported that the work includes the compaction of the subbase and the subsequent placement of an asphalt layer. He stated that the objective is to improve road safety and optimize vehicular mobility on this important logistics corridor.

He added that these works are being carried out in coordination with the concessionaire Manden Colón CMC, specifically on the stretch heading towards the exit of Cuatro Altos, between gates 8 and 9.

Ábrego indicated that the works will continue and detailed that approximately 180 tons of asphalt will be laid as part of the road maintenance and rehabilitation plan.

The MOP recommends that drivers travel with caution through the intervened area and thanks users for their understanding while these works, which aim to strengthen the road infrastructure and contribute to the development of the province, are being carried out.
