Large quantity of counterfeit goods seized in Panama

In Panama, a large quantity of presumably counterfeit goods was seized in an operation carried out by the Public Ministry with the support of the National Police in the Los Cuatro Altos area, on the outskirts of the city of Colón. During the operation, codenamed "Paso Falso", individuals selling all kinds of products were linked to the crime of intellectual property infringement. During the intervention, several small merchants stated that this activity represents their only means of livelihood. Upon entering this curio market, the merchants were carrying out their activities, so they were surprised by the action. In the end, the authorities took several bales of presumably counterfeit goods from the stalls. An investigation into this case has begun so that the owners of the seized goods can prove that they comply with all regulations established for the protection of intellectual property.
