It was not a cold or bureaucratic act, but a celebration of the people, the neighborhood, and identity. One of the most striking moments was the parade dedicated to the Congo culture, where public and private delegations showcased their traditional attire right on the main avenue. The route started on the grounds of San José Church, between streets 9 and 10 on Central Avenue, passed through Juan Demóstenes Arosemana Park, and concluded at the Colón Art and Culture Center. To the rhythm of the drums, women in pollera Congo attire and all elements of the afro-colonial heritage filled the streets. The crowd stood still, watching from the sidelines as living history passed before their eyes. The Atlantic Coast celebrated its 174th anniversary of foundation, and the people took to the streets with pride, music, and living traditions. Colón vibrated as if in its best times. The event was organized by the Colón municipality and featured the participation of firefighters, the Municipal Police, the Ministry of Health, the Colón Free Trade Zone, Mides, the Colón Regional University Center, APED, the Technological University of Panama, and representatives of the private sector.
