Rainwater Harvesting System Ensures Continuous Classes in Panama School

The news reports on the inauguration of a new rainwater harvesting system at a school. The installation was created under the "Agua en tu Aula" project and is the result of a partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Panama, Panamá Rainwater, Dorben Group, and United Way Panama. This initiative aims to promote sustainable infrastructure that ensures reliable access to water in rural schools, thereby improving learning conditions.

The new system, which allows for capturing, storing, and distributing water with stable pressure, guarantees a continuous supply of the resource for daily activities such as cleaning, maintenance, and basic services. This will enable the school to ensure the continuity of its educational activities.

For years, students and teachers at Quebrada Ancha were affected by water scarcity, which caused recurrent class losses due to an irregular water supply. Now, school director Constancio Escapa has confirmed that with the new system, they will lose almost no class time.

"We have water, and with good pressure, because the rain is a blessing... water is life," highlighted Francisco de Arco, a representative of Panamá Rainwater.
