Nine street dwellers were assisted in the early hours of Thursday into Friday by the Municipality of Colón through its Social Management team. During this event, they received hot meals, personal hygiene items, and basic support, aiming to provide immediate relief and a respite from their harsh reality. Following the event, they were transferred to the 'Rescatados por Su Sangre' Foundation, where they will continue to receive support and a safe space to begin their recovery process. The Colón Municipality has reiterated that these actions seek to improve the quality of life for these individuals, work on their social reintegration, and restore the dignity they deserve. This effort is carried out in collaboration with the 'Rescatados por Su Sangre' Foundation, units of the National Police, and supportive private companies. Authorities state that it is necessary to reach out to, assist, and accompany these individuals to reintegrate them into the community, as many face addiction, mental health issues, or have been abandoned to their fate on the streets.
