The Social Security Fund (CSS) announced the opening of the fourth emergency room at the new Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, located in the corregimiento of Cristóbal Este on the outskirts of the city of Colón. The new emergency room is designed to offer comprehensive, high-capacity care and has the following space layout: 22 observation beds, 12 newborn cribs, 6 beds in the shock and trauma area, 8 beds for minor trauma, and 8 isolation beds. The people of Colón hope that the staff and care will be substantially improved for their benefit. The service is operational from 6:00 a.m. this Thursday, December 4, 2025, and will provide 24-hour, year-round care to the population. All of this is accompanied by equipment such as ultrasound machines, electrocardiographs, and monitors, among others.
