Panamanian Government Improves Water and Sanitation Systems in Colón Province

The Panamanian government is advancing water improvements with the Sabanitas water treatment plant and in coastal areas with other treatment facilities. During the visit, officials personally supervised the delivery of drinking water supplies to the Juan Gallego community in the Portobelo district, Upper Coast of Colón. They also reviewed the improvement and adaptation works on the sanitation system in the city of Colón, which is part of the Barrio Sur district. The National Council for Sustainable Development (CONADES) conducted an inspection tour of various points in the province of Colón to verify the progress of the drinking water and sanitation projects being carried out in the communities. The projects aim to strengthen access to basic services, improve the quality of life for residents, and ensure the continuity of works that drive local development.
