New Hospital in Colón Begins Providing Top-Quality Services

The Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, inaugurated this year by President José Raúl Mulino, is now serving the people of Colón with top-quality services. In just five days, 51 births, 31 surgeries, 2,500 laboratory tests, and 920 radiological studies were recorded. Equipped with 30 hemodialysis machines, an MRI, and state-of-the-art laboratories, this health center integrates the services of the Social Security Fund and the Ministry of Health, avoiding duplication and offering more efficient care to the population. 'Colón had been waiting a long time for these works,' stated the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, who today inspected the works at the Roberto Mariano Bula and Armando Dely Valdés stadiums, as well as the new Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, in the province of Colón. The baseball stadium, Mariano Bula, which had been left abandoned by previous governments, is 85% complete and is projected to open its doors in early 2026. With a capacity for 5,000 fans, parking for 102 vehicles, commercial premises, a clubhouse, gym, dormitories, and press boxes, the project meets all the specifications of Major League Baseball. The construction has generated employment for 215 people, 98% of whom are from Colón, showing the administration's commitment to the local people. Meanwhile, the football stadium, Armando Dely Valdés, is being renovated with FIFA-certified synthetic turf, waterproof stands for 1,700 fans, and a modern irrigation system. The work, carried out by PROLOSA, employs 40 people and is scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2026. But the joy doesn't stop with sports. 'This is the quality and effort of our people,' Orillac expressed during his tour, highlighting the social and economic impact of the projects in the province. With these actions, the Mulino administration is recovering abandoned projects. Seeing them advance and function fills us with pride.
