The Ministry of Health has decided to suspend visits to the Nueva Esperanza Penitentiary Center in Colón due to an outbreak of tuberculosis detected in the complex. This measure has been taken as part of preventive actions to control the spread of the disease among inmates and visitors.
On the other hand, the mayor of Arraiján, Stefany Peñalba, has issued a municipal decree that prohibits noise from animals exceeding 50 decibels after 6 PM. This measure has generated discussions among residents, some supporting the initiative as a way to ensure tranquility in the area, while others express concerns about possible limitations for the care of their pets.
Regarding the situation at the Nueva Esperanza Penitentiary Center, health authorities have confirmed that necessary measures are being taken to control the tuberculosis outbreak and ensure the health of the prison population. It is expected that once the situation is under control, the visiting restrictions in the complex will be lifted.
For her part, Mayor Peñalba has mentioned that the prohibition on animal noise responded to constant complaints from neighbors about excessive noise in the residential area. However, possible adjustments to the decree are being evaluated to find a balance that satisfies all parties involved and guarantees the well-being of the residents and their pets in Arraiján.
