During the "Weapons for Food and Medicines" program held in Colón, a total of 543 firearms and 43,476 rounds of ammunition were collected. Among the confiscated weapons are 15 pistols, 21 revolvers, five shotguns, and six rifles. This effort has been key to encouraging the population to exchange weapons for food and medicine, aiming to reduce violence and promote safety in the region.

The commissioner of the National Police emphasized the importance of this program, highlighting that only in Colón were 64 firearms received.
