Four minors, aged 16 and 17, are allegedly involved in a homicide case alongside an adult. They are accused of using a firearm that caused a person's death. During the hearing, the Superior Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Colón and Guna Yala requested the Juvenile Penal Court to legalize the apprehensions and formalize charges against the four minors, a request that was admitted. Now, the four teenagers have been granted a provisional detention measure as a precaution for the crimes of aggravated homicide and criminal association. For this case, last August, the Colón Prosecutor's Office achieved the provisional detention measure for a 36-year-old citizen for the crime of aggravated homicide. This was the result of evidence presented by the Superior Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Colón and Guna Yala, which will seek to demonstrate his connection to the events of July 8, 2025. Four teenagers in Colón, instead of studying, will now face justice for the death of a man linked to a violent incident in the Alto de Los Lagos community in the Cristóbal Este district on the Atlantic coast. On that day, the victim, Arango, was taken to the emergency room of the Sabanitas Policlinic, but he was declared dead. At the time, 34-year-old Ariel Arango was murdered on the premises of tower H-159 in this populous community.
