The National Aeronaval Service (SENAN) intercepted a vessel carrying over 3 tons of drugs off the coast of Colón province. The operation began on January 31 when SENAN detected a suspicious speedboat that attempted to flee. After a pursuit at sea, agents managed to stop the vessel and capture its five crew members. The detainees, the boat, and the suspected drugs were transferred to the Admiral Cristóbal Colón Naval Air Base. There, the Public Ministry confirmed the seizure of 3,029 packages of suspected illicit substances. According to SENAN, so far in 2026, the Aeronaval Service has confiscated over 10 tons of drugs in seven operations, reinforcing the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
