The victim was identified as Efraín Díaz, 46 years old.

In the multiple requests hearing, the judge, after evaluating the arguments of the intervening parties, considered that the measure imposed was necessary and proportional to the nature of the event, in addition to the existence of procedural risks and the need to guarantee the purposes of the process.

Prior to the application of the precautionary measure, the Guarantees Court legalized the apprehension and considered the substantiation of the charge formulation, supported by prosecutor Kitzia Pitti. The defense of the accused was exercised by public defender Neyda Jiménez, while the victim was represented by the Crime Victim Defender, Gustavo Montilla.

The personal precautionary measure of provisional detention was decreed by Bernalda Martínez Suazo, Guaranteies Judge of the province of Colón, against a 23-year-old citizen, accused of the presumed commission of the crime of aggravated intentional homicide in an attempt.

The violent event occurred on February 23 of this year, in the Las Praderas community, Buena Vista district, in the Transístmica area of Colón, when three individuals approached the victim's residence and fired several shots at him.
