In the face of climate variations, the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) has developed the Agroclimatic Technical Committee No. 10 in the province of Colón, with the aim of strengthening productive planning and decision-making within the agricultural sector.
The event was held at the Center for Art and Culture in the city of Colón, where technicians, producers, and representatives from various institutions participated to address the strategies to be implemented.
During the meeting, agroclimatic perspectives were analyzed, technical data was shared, and guidelines were established for the prevention and mitigation of climate risks that could affect the main agricultural and livestock sectors in the province of Colón.
This technical committee strengthened inter-institutional coordination and promoted sustainable production practices, reaffirming the commitment of MIDA and the participating institutions to agricultural development and the sector's resilience.
At the event, the Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology of Panama (IHM) provided specialized information on meteorological and climate conditions, which is fundamental for formulating recommendations for producers in the region.
It is estimated that rains will continue in December and extend into the year 2026.
