Colón on Alert Due to Heavy Rains

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) in Colón province is on alert due to weather instability caused by heavy rains. Monitoring extends not only to the coasts of Colón but also to parts of Veraguas and the Guna Yala region. The city of Colón itself is susceptible to flooding due to the intensity of the rainfall. People are advised to stay informed about the weather and apply all safety measures when entering rivers and the sea to prevent accidents. In recent weeks, the rains have caused streams and rivers to overflow, leaving more than 100 families affected by floodwaters entering their homes. Luis Murillo, regional head of Sinaproc in Colón, stated that constant monitoring is maintained, with weather forecasts indicating light to moderate rains.
