Panamanian Police Arrest Suspect in Teen's Homicide

Panama. A subject known as 'Formigan' was arrested by the National Police this Monday in the province of Colón, linked to the homicide of a teenager that occurred in July of this year in the community of El Polvorín, which belongs to the district of Cativá. This person was wanted for the crime against life and personal integrity in the form of intentional homicide. On that occasion, Ameth González, 17 years old, was killed by several armed individuals who shot him repeatedly. His body was left lying at the scene, while the gunmen fled the crime scene. That same morning, the crime scene was processed by the Homicide Prosecutor's Office, and the young man's body was taken to the city morgue in Colón. The motives that led to the death of this teenager are yet to be known, amidst the spiral of violence in the province of Colón, which has already seen more than 90 people killed this year, a social situation that concerns citizens.
