Council Eliminates Manager Positions in Colón's Mayor's Office

The Municipal Council of the Colón district approved an agreement that eliminates the figure of managers within the administrative structure of the mayor's office. According to the councilors themselves, this move responds to strong questioning about the high costs represented by these positions. After the vote, Mayor Diógenes Galván spoke out, saying he is unaware of the real reasons behind the decision made by the 11 representatives who voted to eliminate the departments previously considered key to internal functioning. Nevertheless, Galván assured the public that he will seek to restructure functions so that the population does not lose the attention and services these departments provided. “Here, the people cannot be left without an answer,” he made clear.
