A 24-year-old young man in the province of Colón has been ordered preventive detention for two homicide cases; investigations are being advanced by the Public Ministry with the help of police intelligence. This person is linked to the death of a man on May 11, 2025, on Calle 2, between Avenues Amador Guerrero and Herrera, in the Barrio Norte district of the city of Colón. At that location, it is presumed that the now accused, along with other citizens with a firearm, shot the victim, causing injuries that led to his death. The second murder case occurred the afternoon of December 3, 2025, on streets 3 and 4 of Avenida Herrera in the city of Colón, when he, along with other people, fired multiple shots, causing the death of another citizen. In the accusatory criminal system hearing where he was taken, his apprehension was first legalized, the formulation of an accusation for the crime of aggravated intentional homicide, and the precautionary measure were issued. Now the case is being investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor's Office.
