The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) informed the public, especially drivers of heavy cargo vehicles, not to travel through the El Guarumal sector on the Transistmic Highway in Colón. Currently, only light vehicles and public transport are permitted to pass in this area. This measure remains in effect due to stabilization and road rehabilitation work being carried out in the area, with the aim of guaranteeing user safety. There is a permanent presence of Transit Police units at the site, so drivers who fail to comply with this provision will be sanctioned in accordance with the current regulations. Cargo transporters are recommended to use the Panama-Colón highway as an authorized alternate route. The Ministry of Public Works thanked the public for their cooperation and reiterates that these actions respond to the need to preserve road safety and allow for the safe development of work in this sector.
