A man was shot dead early Saturday in the province of Colón, raising the death toll to 10 so far this year due to violence. The incident occurred at the intersection of 7th and 8th streets on Avenida Santa Isabel in the city of Colón. It was past 1:00 a.m. when repeated explosions were heard, alarming residents of the avenue. A man was then seen lying on the ground, showing signs of having been attacked with a firearm, and was already dead. The National Police arrived first at the scene and proceeded to cordon off the perimeter for the Criminalistics personnel to process the crime scene. So far, the victim's identity is unknown as the body has not been recovered.
