The National Police, through the National Anti-Drug Directorate (DNAD), conducted an operation at a port in the Province of Colón, where a containerized cargo was searched. In this action, 674 packages of suspected drugs were discovered, distributed in 17 suitcases, hidden inside a container that was determined to have originally come from the United States, had made a stop in Panama, and had Belgium as the final destination.
According to the initial investigations, this discovery represents another significant blow against international drug trafficking. Authorities are continuing their investigations to identify those responsible for this drug smuggling attempt.
In the words of the spokesperson for the National Police: "This important operation demonstrates the ongoing work of our security forces to combat drug trafficking and protect citizens. We will continue to implement measures to dismantle these criminal networks and prevent these illicit substances from reaching their destination."
This is a reminder of the importance of maintaining close surveillance at ports and borders to prevent drug trafficking and other illicit activities. International collaboration and coordination among different security agencies are essential to effectively and continuously address this challenge.
