Two Chiriquí baseball players, Carlos Xavier Quiroz and Jonathan Saavedra, have reached a significant milestone in their careers by achieving 800 hits, a feat previously accomplished only by their fellow countryman Rodolfo 'Candelilla' Aparicio. This historic event took place at the Kenny Serracín Stadium in the city of David during the first game of the National Baseball Championship Semifinals between Panamá Oeste and Chiriquí. Quiroz reached his 800th hit in the very first inning with a slow roller to second base, safely reaching first base but had to leave the game due to a leg strain. Meanwhile, Saavedra secured his 800th hit in the bottom of the fifth inning with a line drive to left field. It is noteworthy that both Quiroz and Saavedra reached the 800-hit mark against pitches from former Major League Baseball player Davis Romero, who was brought in as a reinforcement for Panamá Oeste. 'Candelilla' Aparicio remains the leader in this statistic, ending his illustrious career with 831 hits.
