Panama - A 45-year-old man disappeared yesterday at the Charco Lajas beach, located in the Gualaca district (Chiriqui), when rain and reduced visibility were reported in the area. According to a witness, the man submerged and did not resurface around 3:00 PM, prompting the search to begin. Search operations were conducted for several hours but were suspended last night due to the turbidity of the water, low visibility, and difficult terrain conditions. Today, around 7:00 AM, the operation resumed with the participation of paramedics, ambulances, volunteers, specialized divers, EXBURE units, and the use of an underwater drone to reinforce the search in deep areas. "Authorities reiterate the call to the public to remain cautious at beaches and respect operational zones while the search continues," stated the Fire Department.
