Panama Government Opens New Health Center in Guararé

Guararé, Los Santos, December 5, 2025. Fulfilling a decades-long dream for over 15,000 residents of the Guararé district, the National Government today handed over the new Carlos Ugalde Health Center. This modern infrastructure will significantly strengthen medical care in this region of the country. The project was delivered by the most excellent president, José Raúl Mulino Quintero, along with the Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, and health authorities. For years, the inhabitants of Guararé relied on facilities with limited space and technology, and even had to travel to other districts to access adequate medical services. With this new health center, that reality is changing. Authorities highlighted that President Mulino's vision and his commitment to putting the patient first drove the decision to complete this project, making it a tangible service for the community today. The Carlos Ugalde Health Center will begin operations on Tuesday, December 9, during its regular hours, providing services in key areas such as: Clinical laboratory, pharmacy, outpatient consultation, early stimulation, general medicine, social work, pediatrics, psychology, nursing, weight and height measurement, dentistry, emergencies, and other essential services. With an investment of nearly eight million balboas, authorities emphasized that this project belongs to the people of Guararé and all Panamanians. They urged residents to make good use of the facilities, care for them, and value them. Minister Fernando Boyd Galindo urged the health staff to 'turn this modern building not only into a functional structure, but into a space where each patient receives a human, warm, and dignified treatment.' Boyd Galindo thanked the leadership of President José Raúl Mulino Quintero and the work of those who made this project possible. The Minsa reiterates its commitment to continue working with firm steps to build a Panama with health and well-being for all.
