Family searches for missing Emilio Ortega in Panama

The question 'Where is he?' haunts the family of Emilio Ortega Rivera (58), who disappeared on December 1st in Ollas Abajo, district of La Chorrera, in West Panama. However, a niece living nearby found the doors to his home open later that same day, leading them to believe that Don Emilio, who lived alone, had returned home and then left again. Meanwhile, a taxi driver from the area claims to have taken him to La Espiga, but during the trip, Don Emilio told him he was feeling unwell and dizzy and was going to the doctor. His family has searched for him without success at the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital in La Chorrera, the Santo Tomás Hospital in the capital, and the polyclinic in El Coco, finding no trace of his whereabouts. Faced with the uncertainty, the family filed a missing person report with the Primary Attention Section of West Panama and requested the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) to review the surveillance camera footage at the entrances to La Chorrera, La Espiga, and El Espino. Mrs. Eyra Ortega, bewildered by the lack of news after four days, is asking anyone with information to call 6369-2047 or 6926-5816.
