New La Chorrera Fair Board Prepares for 2026 Event

The new board of the La Chorrera Fair will have less than two months to organize the 2026 fair event, which must be inaugurated on January 21, according to the official fair calendar released by the Ministry of Agricultural Development. The National Fairs Commission (CONAFER) revealed at the beginning of December the list of new patrons and the board of directors, following a selection process that began in October of this year. Cristóbal Fu Guerrero, elected as the new president of the board, admitted that it is “a tough task.” “We are really against the clock,” reiterated Cristóbal Fu, also a lawyer, when indicating that work is already underway on the formation of the working commissions, which must materialize and energize the event. There are 13 organizations from the government sector, cultural and agricultural groups, and government institutions that make up the board. Despite the short preparation period, the new president of the board predicted that the 2026 event will be a “resounding success.” He also said that through a website, all financial information before and after the event, which must run from January 21 to February 1, will be made available.
