The Association of Chinese-Panamanian Professionals (APROCHIPA) maintains this festival to preserve this heritage and, simultaneously, raise funds for social interest projects in vulnerable communities across the country. The event will feature a varied agenda that includes kite-flying zones, an entrepreneurs' fair, gastronomy, a pet adoption area, and cultural performances. This family event, with over two decades of history, has become a meeting point to highlight Asian culture, creativity, and traditions on the isthmus.

For this edition, the organization announced a change of venue to the future Town Center of Costa Verde, in the La Chorrera district. This decision, according to the organizers, responds to the sustained growth of the audience and has the backing of the local mayor's office led by Eloy Chong. María Gabriela Fong, president of APROCHIPA, highlighted that this new venue will allow for the expansion of the social and cultural reach of a tradition that strengthens the bonds between the communities of Panama and China.

The history of kite flying has its roots in ancient China around 1200 B.C., where it initially functioned as a strategic means of communication in military contexts. Over time, the practice evolved into a recreational and sporting activity. In addition to the main event, a Children's Story Contest and various kite-making workshops were organized in collaboration with local governments such as the Betania Community Board and ACHIMPA. The festival will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering a larger capacity space to welcome the more than 8,000 attendees projected. As a main attraction, there will be six international experts from Colombia, representing the groups El Cometero Kite Company, Colombian Kites, and CK Team Sport Kite, who will perform aerial acrobatics demonstrations.
