Panama - Two new doctors have been charged with negligent homicide for their alleged involvement in the death of a young woman due to medical negligence. The woman was admitted to the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital in La Chorrera in April 2021 with a fever and headaches. These two new doctors join three others who were also charged in the same case last month at the request of the Section of Crimes against Life and Personal Integrity of the West Panama Prosecutor's Office. During the multiple request hearing, the judge ordered, as a precautionary measure, the suspension of the positions for the two doctors and also authorized their arrest, after the Prosecutor's Office presented the necessary evidence for these requests to be admitted. This case is related to a case of medical negligence that caused the death of a young woman who was admitted to the La Chorrera hospital from April 17 to 22, 2021.
