36 Apprehended in 'Operation Odysseus' in Panama

Panama's National Police conducted 'Operation Odysseus' in La Chorrera, apprehending 36 individuals wanted for various crimes. Over 4,000 people were checked, and firearms and ammunition were recovered.


A total of 36 people wanted for various crimes were apprehended during the “Operation Odysseus,” carried out by the National Police (PN) in the district of La Chorrera, in the province of West Panama. Commissioner Adolfo Pérez, head of the Tenth Police Zone of La Chorrera, reported that more than 4,000 people have been checked at checkpoints set up in strategic locations of several districts. Authorities announced that the “Operation Odysseus” will be maintained for several weeks in the district of La Chorrera, with the objective of locating and capturing people wanted by the justice system. One of the sectors intervened during the “Operation Odysseus” was Naos, in the district of Barrio Balboa, an area where at the beginning of this year six people were deprived of their liberty by a group led by a subject nicknamed “Chiri”. Commissioner Pérez added that among the apprehended there are both national and foreign citizens, as well as people of various ages. Additionally, four search warrants were executed, in which a firearm and ammunition of various calibers were recovered.
