Woman Who Nearly Killed Her Stepfather Arrested in Panama

Panama - A woman who nearly stabbed her stepfather to death on Christmas Eve 2025 was arrested this Wednesday in the Playa Leona area, in the district of La Chorrera, West Panama province. According to the preliminary investigation, the woman, who is about 30 years old, stabbed her stepfather with a bladed weapon multiple times in different parts of the body during a family argument. As the stabbings put the victim's life at risk, the Homicide and Femicide Section of the West Panama Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation into the crime against life and personal integrity in the form of homicide, rather than for domestic violence. It was reported that the incident occurred on December 24, 2025, when the suspect attacked her stepfather, who had to be admitted to the Nicolás A. Solana Hospital to receive medical attention. Since the man survived the brutal bladed weapon attack, the suspect will now be presented before a Guarantees Court so that a judge can determine if the arrest was legal, after which the charges will be filed and the precautionary measure she must comply with while the Prosecutor's Office investigates the case will be established.
