Panama's President Announces Pet Hospital and New Projects for Coclé Province

The President of the Republic of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, and the First Lady, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, visited La Pintada, Coclé province, this Friday to supervise the development of various social initiatives organized by the First Lady's Office. Both toured the grounds of the Justa Moreno de Conte Municipal Palace, where the 18th edition of 'Misión Patitas' for pet sterilization took place. Additionally, the fairs 'Amor sobre Ruedas' and 'Ver y Oír para Aprender' were held, along with an inter-institutional activity that united efforts from the Institute of Agropecuary Marketing (IMA) and the Ministry of Health (Minsa). Since September 2024, 'Misión Patitas' has sterilized 15,580 dogs and cats nationwide. The four-day event in La Pintada is expected to add another 2,000 sterilizations. The president congratulated the organizers of 'Misión Patitas' and announced that, in line with his campaign promises, he will soon lay the first stone for the Hospital for Pets in Panama, located in Juan Díaz. 'Misión Patitas' will continue its tour, visiting Colón next weekend and Chiriquí in December, with a goal of one thousand sterilizations in each location. The president and the First Lady also visited health service points, such as vaccination, blood pressure checks, and dental prosthesis placement. The president took a moment to greet the students of the La Pintada Professional and Technical Institute and explain the progress of the project for the Center for Agropecuary Specialties (Ceagro), a technical training institution that will begin operations in 2026. This institution will have campuses in Chiriquí, Darién, and Divisa, Herrera province. They also stopped at the IMA's rice sales points to talk with customers. The presidential couple boarded the mobile clinic 'Amor Sobre Ruedas', where patients can get mammograms. They also donated home goods to Amarilis Pinzón and Mónica Martínez, residents of La Pintada. During their tour, they received greetings and hugs from people of all ages who took advantage of the various services offered at the fairs. The president also announced that in January, several necessary projects for the province of Coclé will begin, including the new Aquilino Tejeira Hospital.
