Las Tablas Prepares for Panama Carnival

The city of Las Tablas is advancing in its preparations to once again become the epicenter of the Panama Carnival, one of the most anticipated festivities for nationals and visitors, which annually boosts the local and national economy. As part of the organization, the Municipality of Las Tablas has started the process of granting permits for informal vending stalls, which will operate during the carnival days along the official route of the events. According to the district mayor, Noé Herrera, the procedures will be available from today until February 12, with the projection of authorizing more than 100 stalls distributed in strategic points of the city. The mayor explained that the permits cover key areas such as Porras Park and surrounding sectors, with the aim of guaranteeing order, security, and better conditions for both vendors and the public attending the carnival events. Herrera emphasized that the municipality has a direct responsibility in the organization of the Carnival, not only in terms of commercial permits but also in the strict application of the mayoral decree, especially regarding the schedules for firework displays, the performance time of the 'tunas' (dance troupes), and other current provisions. In this regard, he reported that a maximum time for the firework displays has been established, which must be respected in consideration for the community enjoying the show and the residents of the district. However, the mayor indicated that the municipal office maintains an open attitude towards dialogue, as long as requests are made within the framework of respect and the established regulations.
