Miviot delivers 397 dignified housing solutions in Ngäbe Buglé

On an occasion marking the 53rd anniversary of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), families from the districts of Müna, Ñürüm, and Nole Düima formally received 397 dignified housing solutions. Miviot thus continues the execution of public policies aimed at raising the living standards of the country's historically neglected sectors under the administration of President José Raúl Mulino. The estimated cost of each basic unit is B/. 25,000.00, while emergency solutions reached B/. 31,000.00 per unit. A critical component of this management was the allocation of 22 national emergency homes, specifically for families who lost their assets during the floods recorded in November 2024, thus providing a direct response to the impacts of natural disasters. The total investment for this project in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca amounts to approximately B/. 10,069,000.00. This action, part of the state strategy to reduce the housing deficit in the most vulnerable regions, represents a structural transformation for nearly 2,000 people who previously lived in makeshift structures with dirt floors and deteriorated roofs. Minister Jaime A. Jované C., during the event held at the Llano Tugrí Governorate, highlighted that the delivery transcends physical infrastructure, symbolizing equity and security for indigenous communities. As a technical innovation for environmental preservation, each unit is equipped with a septic biodigester tank, ensuring adequate sanitation management in hard-to-reach areas. The breakdown of the delivery includes 373 social interest homes and 2 housing improvements. Million-dollar investment guarantees access to dignified housing for indigenous families. With the presence of the Vice Minister of Indigenous Affairs, Doris Bill Fábregas, the commitment to advance "with firm step" in the comprehensive development of native populations was reaffirmed. The basic units delivered consist of two bedrooms, living room-dining room, kitchen, and hygienic bathroom. The coverage of this delivery included 16 districts, including Piedra Pintada, Cerro Venado, La Trinidad, El Piro #1, and Alto Laguna.
