Cadena de Frío, S.A. has officially revoked the rent exemption that benefited a group of agro-industrial companies located in Nave 72 of Cerro Punta, within Merca Panamá, since 2018.
As a result, the six companies operating in Nave 72 without paying the rent since 2018 will now have to comply with the current rate and also assume the corresponding charges for the period the exemption was in effect.
The official document instructs the administration to "adopt the mechanisms provided for by Law 90 of November 7, 2013, as well as the Internal Regulation for Tenants of the National Markets of Cadena de Frío, S.A., so that they make their payments for unpaid rent".
The measure, established through a new resolution published in the Official Gazette, argues that the Board of Directors of Cadena de Frío lacked the legal authority to grant such a payment exemption.
