The Consumer Protection and Competition Authority (Acodeco) has begun monitoring school supplies prices as the school year approaches. The review included uniforms, footwear, and stationery, which are already moving strongly in city stores. The idea is clear: to let people know how much things cost before buying them. The work was done by officials from the Department of Price Information and Verification (DIPREV), who visited several commercial points. They passed through Albrook Mall, the center of San Miguelito, including Gran Estación, and also the shopping centers of Los Andes and Los Pueblos. There they took direct note of what is being sold and at what price. During the tour, a wide price difference was found between similar products.
