The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is conducting an inventory and technical verification within a 40-meter-wide road servitude strip as part of the preliminary stages of the Vía España expansion project. The objective of these meetings is to establish a direct communication channel to explain the technical scope of the expansion and to manage an orderly reorganization process that minimizes the social and economic impact in the area.

This infrastructure project will transform the transportation dynamics for more than 82,000 daily users. As the legal administrator of public servitudes, the MOP is tasked with ensuring these spaces comply with safety, mobility, and urban planning standards. In addition to segregated lanes for public transport, the work includes sidewalk widening, comprehensive improvements to the storm drainage system, and various urban adaptations aimed at raising road safety standards.

Following technical surveys conducted in the field, the institution has identified nearly 400 occupations within the designated area, ranging from informal structures to various commercial activities. Authorities have clarified that, during this phase, actions are strictly focused on notification and coordination with the occupants. The state entity will develop a schedule of meetings with local authorities, representatives, and the people directly affected by the project's layout.
