Universal+ Premieres 'Law & Order: Toronto: Criminal Intent' First Season

Universal+ has announced the premiere for all of Latin America of the first season of 'Law & Order: Toronto: Criminal Intent,' the most recent addition to the police franchise created by Dick Wolf under the Wolf Entertainment banner. The series, consisting of 10 episodes, features a team from the Specialized Investigations Unit tasked with solving disturbing homicides and high-profile corruption cases in the Greater Toronto Area. The investigation team stands out for the diversity of skills of its members. Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, played by Aden Young, is characterized by a notable analytical ability and the use of esoteric knowledge to decipher crimes, despite having a withdrawn personality. Alongside him, Detective Frankie Bateman, played by Kathleen Munroe, provides the necessary empathetic perspective to reach the truth, while the narrative also explores the challenges of her personal life as a single mother. Inspector Vivienne Holness, in charge of Karen Robinson, leads the unit, while Dr. Lucy Da Silva, played by Nicola Correia-Damude, serves as the Toronto Police Department's forensic pathologist. The dynamic between these two characters has been compared by the producers to the classic duo of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, establishing a mentorship and complementarity that is fundamental to solving the department's most difficult cases. The main cast also includes Tammy Isbell Collins, who acts as a legal advisor to ensure the validity of the evidence. The series has been developed by Tassie Cameron and maintains the essence of Wolf Entertainment's fiction by focusing on human relationships linked to the search for justice. 'Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent' arrives in the region backed by international acclaim and 15 nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards, where it won the award for Best Drama thanks to a narrative described as fast-paced and with constant plot twists.
