Since its inception in 1986, the institution has been firmly committed to transforming the lives of citizens with intellectual disabilities, turning them into outstanding athletes and role models of inspiration for Panamanian society, while also ensuring a dignified representation of the country in international sporting arenas.
Four decades of impact and sporting achievements
Over these 40 years, its mission has focused on the inclusion of children, youth, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through sports practice. The current sports offering includes 11 competitive disciplines and 2 demonstration disciplines, guaranteeing a variety of options for beneficiaries.
For the present year 2026, the organization will continue its inclusive work with the start of the sports calendar scheduled for the month of March. This planning includes local Subprogram and Qualifying Games, which will be decisive in forming the national delegation that will compete in the 2027 Santiago de Chile Summer World Games.
By offering continuous opportunities for the exchange of skills and camaraderie with their families and the community in general, the organization is consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar for peaceful coexistence and the recognition of the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities in Panamanian society.
These participations have resulted in the obtaining of numerous medals, positioning Panama's name in the elite of world inclusive sport.
