An impressive accident was reported early Sunday morning on the Domingo Díaz highway involving about five vehicles, near the entrance to the Las Acacias neighborhood, heading towards San Antonio. It was reported that as a result of this traffic incident, two people were injured. They were attended by paramedics from the Unique Emergency Management System (SUME 911) at the scene, but did not require transfer to any nearby medical center. According to witnesses, on that stretch of the road, units of the National Police were conducting an operation, and apparently, one of the drivers failed to see that traffic was stopped, so when he suddenly changed lanes, he collided with another vehicle, which caused a domino effect. In the end, five vehicles were involved in this multiple collision. It was also revealed that several of the drivers tested positive on the test with the alcohol sensor, but it was not detailed how many. After the accident, several of the vehicles had to be removed from the scene on tow trucks, as their bodies ended up with serious damage, some of them both in the front and rear. Units of the National Traffic Directorate are investigating the case to determine responsibilities.
