This Monday, May 5th, lawyer Gilberto Solís González plans to file a criminal complaint against Subcommissioner Argüelles. Solís González believes that the Subcommissioner is responsible for arbitrary detentions and for violating university autonomy at the Harmodio Arias Madrid Campus of the University of Panama.
The militant strike announced will begin on the same Monday at 7:00 a.m., without further details about the nature of the strike.
Regarding the situation, lawyer Solís González expressed: "It is necessary to respect university autonomy and guarantee the respect of students' rights on campus. The excessive use of force and baseless detentions must be investigated and sanctioned."
The criminal complaint adds to the actions being taken in defense of university autonomy and against what is considered abuse by the police authorities at the Harmodio Arias Madrid Campus.
