Father Who Reported Daughter's Kidnapping Is Arrested

In Panama, a father who previously requested help finding his daughter has been arrested. He and seven others are suspected of being part of a criminal group involved in drug trafficking. The investigation into 'Operation Nodriza' continues.

Authorities reported that the case of the detained citizen—who had previously publicly requested help for the disappearance of his daughter—continues under analysis within the process. According to the official report, the police action resulted in eight people being detained in operations carried out in Panama and Panama West, including raids on properties and boats within social and sports clubs, as well as maneuvers in the Diablo area. His capture took place within the framework of Operation Nodriza, executed by the Drugs Prosecutor's Office of the Public Ministry. The investigation supporting this operation began in 2023, and a structure composed of Panamanians and Colombians with defined roles, operating from Panamanian territory, has been identified. The investigation remains open, and it is expected that in the coming hours, official information will be expanded on the connections, routes, and responsibilities of the eight apprehended in this new phase of Operation Nodriza. César Caicedo, who months ago publicly denounced the alleged kidnapping of his daughter, Dayra, was apprehended this Wednesday, pointed out by authorities as part of a group allegedly dedicated to trafficking illicit substances.
