President José Raúl Mulino announced on Tuesday that six regional leaders, including the presidents of Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Guatemala, will participate in the International Economic Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean, held in Panama on January 28 and 29. Among the confirmed presidents are Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Brazil), Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Bernardo Arévalo (Guatemala), Andrew Holness (Jamaica), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), and the president-elect of Chile, José Antonio Kast. Organized by CAF—Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, the forum will also feature five former heads of state: Iván Duque and Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), Laura Chinchilla (Costa Rica), Eduardo Frei (Chile), and Enrico Letta (Italy). Additionally, ministers and high-ranking officials from countries such as Spain, Mexico, Peru, India, and over 20 nations have confirmed attendance, along with representatives from international organizations like the UN, OAS, European Commission, OECD, OPEC, and ECLAC. CAF announced that the 2024 and 2025 Nobel laureates in Economics, James Robinson and Philippe Aghion, will share their insights on development, innovation, and institutions. The forum will bring together business leaders and global figures to discuss the region's challenges and promote actions to drive growth, inclusion, and competitiveness in Latin America and the Caribbean.
