In Panama, two men who were killed yesterday in the sector of El Brillante, located in the corregimiento of Tocumen, have been identified as Ariel Alexis Guerra Sánchez, 46, and Eduardo Enrique Villarreal García, alias 'El Conde', 50. Sánchez, a taxi driver, died around 2:00 p.m. at the Irma de Lourdes Tzanetatos Hospital, where he was taken by police after running out of his taxi in an attempt to save his life. In 2024 and 2025, he was arrested for crimes against collective security (drugs), and this year for robbery. Sánchez and Villarreal were ambushed on Tuesday morning by hitmen on a motorcycle as they were traveling in the taxi with license plate 011224. Meanwhile, 'El Conde', who was a passenger, was the one who died inside the taxi. For now, everything points to the attack being aimed at 'El Conde', as the hitmen shot from his side, so Sánchez was hit by bullets on his left side. The preliminary investigation details that El Conde had a criminal record, as he was arrested in 2013 for his alleged involvement in a homicide with a firearm committed in 24 de Diciembre.
